Wing fling is over for 2010 and there are plenty of folks that Dee and I need to thank. First of all, we’d like to thank the entire District Team. They worked extremely hard to provide you with an educational and fun experience. We’d also like to thank the vendors that traveled to Hiawassee to offer their wares. Thanks must also be given to the Host Hotels and the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds for their gracious hospitality.

Foremost however, we would like to thank each and every member that came to support Wing Fling. Wing Fling is put on for all of you. We hope you enjoyed yourselves this year. For those of you who volunteered, this year we provided ‘Volunteer Pins’. We hope you will wear those with pride.

Wing Ding 32

By the time this newsletter is distributed, Wing Ding will be in full swing. We know that Des Moines, Iowa is a long haul from Georgia. Still, we hope that several of you were able to make the trip north and enjoy all that Wing Ding has to offer. Friday, Georgia is responsible for ticket sales. To those that volunteer to help, thanks!

Wing Fling 2011

By now, you’ve likely heard that Wing Fling 2011 will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Duluth, GA. To those whom have already registered, we thank you so much. Our new host hotel has over 300 lovely guest rooms, superb meeting and activity rooms, a wonderful spot, right outside of the hotel, for our vendors, two restaurants, a huge lobby area, lots of parking (including a fourtier parking garage), and much, much more. Plus, the room rates at this fantastic property are just $84 per night. Unlike every other District within Region A, full registration for Wing Fling is still just $25 for GWRRA members. Additionally, this year we are offering an “Early Bird” registration special. All registrations received before August 31, 2011 will receive “Double Tickets” (50/25/25 and Grand Prize).

Thanks to John & Sheila Andrews and Dave & Sharon Aikens. For the past four years, as District Treasurers and District Trainers, they have given generously of their time to serve the members of Georgia. Also, thanks to Traci & Ken Thrasher and Marvin & Vicki Seritt. Traci is taking over as District Treasurer and Marvin is our new District Webmaster.
