September Highlights

Well another month has come and gone. My how time fly’s when you’re having fun. Vicky and I had the opportunity to visit Chapter C2 (Hinesville, GA). We enjoyed our time visiting with the members of Chapter C2 and other visiting chapters CH-L (Rome, GA) and CH E2 (Pooler, GA).

While visiting C2, I had the honor of presenting Larry Urban, Chapter Director of C2 with his level IV Patch. Level IV is the most prestigious level within the Rider Education Levels Program and is referred to as Master Tour Rider/Co-Rider. It represents the highest level of commitment by the Rider and/or Co-Rider toward safe riding and preparedness; which Larry has demonstrated with a history of safe miles, continuing education and current certification in both First Aid and CPR.

Chapter GA- T (Athens, GA) hosted a 2 wheel PLP on Aug. 15th. There were members from GA-A, GA-I & GA-T with a total of 11 bikes participating in the exercise. All participants stated that the exercises were fun and helped to improve their riding skills. Thanks, Chapter T, for hosting this PLP!

COMING SOON - RIDER EDUCATION FUN DAY

We are excited about the upcoming Rider Education Fun Day hosted by Chapter L in Rome, GA. Murry Cail (GA-L RE) called me sometime around the first of July and said that GA-L would like to host a PLP and make it open to other GWRRA Chapter Members. I thought, wow, this is a great idea, as Murry talked about using the Rome Braves Stadium parking lot and holding a Motorcycle & Trike PLP at the same time. The more we talked, the more excited I got. Then we got to talking about adding a seminar or two in the mix. After our phone conversation ended that morning, I got to thinking how much this could benefit the GWRRA Members; being able to offer Bike and Trike PLP’s, Seminars and A Medic First Aid class at one location and all in one day.

Both the Co-Rider and Team Riding Seminars are very informative for both the Rider and Co- Rider.

The Medic First Aid class teaches CPR and First Aid. These are great tools to have, SO DON”T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!

I have participated in each of these classes a number of times and I always learn something every time. Even though it may be very small and insignificant to some, it may mean a great deal to you in a critical situation. I hope that you will be able to take some new or refreshed information home with you when you leave the RIDER EDUCATION FUN DAY.

The response has been very good and registrations are starting to come in daily. There are several spots open in all areas at this time, so send you’re registration in soon. We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the RIDER EDUCATION FUN DAY in Rome.

I want to thank Chapter L for securing the facility and hosting this event. They have also taken on the task of providing lunch. The outstanding generosity of the members of Chapter L is greatly appreciated.

Ride Safely,
