COMING TOGETHER for RIDER EDUCATION

Vicky and I are really excited about the Rider Education Fun Day held in Rome, GA on October 3rd. We feel that the event was a wonderful success. We had outstanding support shown by the members. The weather was absolutely wonderful. It started off a little cool & foggy, but the fog lifted about 9:30 and we had a sunny day with mild temperatures. There were a total of 72 members in attendance for the event and Chapter L provided lunch for everyone. The participation was very good. Everyone came with a positive attitude and eager to sharpen their skills or learn something new about safe riding. Below are some of the statistics from the event:

• 24 members participated in the PLP’s
• 16 members participated in the Co-Rider seminar
• 10 members participated in the Team Riding Seminar
• 12 members were certified in Medic First Aid (CPR & First-Aid)

By completing one or more of the courses at this event, several of the participants were able to move up in the Rider Ed Levels Program. Below is a summary of Levels changes:

• New to Level I = 2
• Level I to Level II = 10
• Level II to Level III = 4

This was our first time (Trial Run) for this type of Rider Education Event. We have only received positive feed back about the event. Everyone seemed to like the fact that several courses were offered at one location on the same day. We look forward to having more of these events in the future.
